Looking to join one of the largest employers in the medtech industry?

Engaging their experience and passion, talented women at Siemens Healthineers help pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare and push boundaries in medical technology.

Across Siemens Healthineers, a network of STEM professionals from different fields and diverse backgrounds work together both for their own success and for patients’ well-being.

Celebrating these professionals, Siemens Healthineers marked Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (Global Med Lab Week), shining a spotlight on one of its impressive women scientists, Julie Chaney.

"This week, we celebrate the heroes behind every diagnosis — the medical laboratory professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep us healthy. You turn science into answers and tests into life-saving decisions. Thank you for your precision, passion, and dedication. Happy Lab Week to everyone who has chosen to work in laboratory science. Thank you for the incredibly important work you do every day," said Siemens Healthineers.

Sharing inspiration behind her STEM career

Julie Chaney, who works as a Staff Scientist in Primary Care Assay Development at Siemens Healthineers, shares what motivated her to pursue her STEM career.

"I think a lot of people, especially girls, don't necessarily see themselves as scientists, because they tend to think of science as something that's done just by mutant geniuses and not by normal people. So, I think that was when I realized that I was the sort of person that could do this," commented Julie.

Celebrating laboratory professionals

Lab Week is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in health care and patient advocacy. This year’s theme, "Labs Save Lives" underscores the vital impact of laboratory professionals and highlights the essential role they play in healthcare, often behind the scenes, but always at the forefront of patient care and medical innovations

Global Med Lab Week is organized by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) to highlight the fundamental work that worldwide Medical Lab Professionals have on patient healthcare.

"Together, we will raise global awareness and highlight the significance of our work," said the IFCC, a world-leading non-profit NGO that brings together professional organizations of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine from 96 National Societies from countries on 6 continents as well as 63 corporate members.

IFCC's main mission is to advance excellence in laboratory medicine for better healthcare worldwide. To support this mission, IFCC provides unique scientific and continuing education opportunities to its members and develop key programs to directly impact patient care by improving the field of laboratory medicine, but none of this is possible without creating awareness of the critical contribution of Med Lab in public health and patient care. IFCC provides unique scientific and continuing education opportunities to its members and develop key programs to directly impact patient care by improving the field of laboratory medicine.
