“As climate‑related events increase and resource pressures intensify, hospitals are experiencing the effects first-hand: rising patient volumes linked to heat, air pollution, and extreme weather, alongside growing vulnerability in already strained systems," says Julia.

Julia explains how advancing sustainability enables healthcare providers to use their limited resources where they matter most: at the point of care. Julia explains how Siemens Healthineers' refurbished MRI systems can be equipped with the latest energy-saving features and enhanced with artificial intelligence to optimize workflow, all at a lower cost and smaller environmental footprint.

"Energy‑saving analyses in radiology departments at the University hospital in Basel, Switzerland or workflow optimization projects with Northwestern Medicine in the United States help these providers lower operating costs and meet their sustainability targets without compromising the quality of care," adds Julia.
