"The complexity of the human body really fascinated me, and the potential of technology to solve real world problems is also very exciting. So STEM felt like an obvious choice," explains Ruchi.
"When I chose to study engineering, my real goal was to use that knowledge to help improve healthcare," says Maria.

When asked about their advice for further women considering STEM careers, Ruchi says: "Take up your space, make noise, hold up your success. STEM is exciting. STEM is rewarding. STEM is for you."
And Maria's advice: "Do what you love and make sure you're in the right environment with people who support you, both personally and professionally. STEM is full of opportunities."
