Adriana Costa is at the helm of Siemens Healthineers in Brazil

Siemens Healthineers has a woman at the helm of the company in Brazil, with Adriana Costa named as Managing Director. 

Adriana has more than two decades of experience in leadership positions in Brazil and Latin America, working in the areas of Business Management, Marketing and Sales. In the Healthcare and Industrial sector, she has experience in organizations such as Johnson & Johnson, General Electric and GlaxoSmithkline.

Pioneering advances in health care 

Graduated in Marketing from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and with an MBA in Business from Fundação Dom Cabral, Adriana aims to connect the global strategy of pioneering advances in health care, accelerating the transformation of the health market in Brazil, through humanized and collaborative management.

“I believe in the power of co-creation between the various agents in the health market, to find solutions that aim at greater efficiency for the entire chain and better results for patients,” explains Adriana. 

According to Guilherme Marques, President of Siemens Healthineers for Latin America, Adriana's management will focus on: “Building value propositions, aimed at expanding access to precision medicine, accelerating the digital journey and transforming care with health to improve the patient experience.” 

Adriana emphasizes her commitment to management and results as the head of the company.

“We believe in building a more technologically agile and advanced medicine. In this sense, we will work to ensure that diseases are diagnosed with increasing precision and that therapies and care are adapted to each individual, transforming health care and improving the patient experience. Advanced data digitization — analyzed by artificial intelligence — simplifies processes and reduces costs, without sacrificing results. Hence our commitment to developing continuous digital innovations”.

Accelerating diversity, equity and inclusion 

Adriana works strongly in accelerating diversity, equity and inclusion, having a real passion and responsibility for the subject.

“In addition to my values ​​and my life experience being connected to this purpose, I believe that diversity and inclusion are fundamental principles for the good performance and sustainability of an organization, where people can be themselves and, thus, have all the conditions to reach their maximum potential. We, as leaders, are essential bridges to reduce the disparity and inequality that we live, transforming speeches into practical actions,” she says.  

Adriana is an advisor and mentor to both professionals and startups focused on these purposes.

Achievements in the corporate world

Adriana's career is full of achievements in the corporate world. She has held key positions at major companies such as General Electric, GSK and Perrigo. In addition, she led the Orthopedics Business Unit at Johnson & Johnson MedTech for almost five years, where she accelerated the digital and innovation journey in the segment, in addition to transforming the best patient experience.

While at J&J, Adriana was President of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation dedicated to the education of health professionals and active leader of the Women Leadership Inclusion (WLI) in Brazil and Latin America.

The executive is recognized in the corporate world both for her intensely collaborative management style and for her dedication to driving continuous innovation.

“I believe in empowering teams and valuing their potential in order to collaborate with the development of leaders of the future,” explains Adriana. 

In addition to her success in the corporate world, Adriana is the mother of João Pedro and Vitor, married to Valter and practices activities that help her mental and physical balance, such as running and hot yoga.
