Working for a company with a strong community focus can be a rewarding experience.
Colleagues at global digital infrastructure company Colt Technology Services often take part in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.
Working together as a team
Colt colleagues, customers and partners recently came together in Berlin, Germany, to support the Charity Bike Ride in support of ReDI School of Digital Integration.
"Whether riding 25, 50 or 100 km along the Berliner Mauerweg, the day was about more than the distance. It was about teamwork, supporting one another, and connecting beyond our day-to-day work," said Colt.
Together with partners BECER GmbH, Die Netz-Werker AG and NorthC Datacenters Deutschland, Colt raised over €7,175 to help ReDI School provide digital education and career opportunities for people with refugee and migrant backgrounds.
"A huge thank you to everyone who cycled, donated, cheered us on and helped make the day possible. It was great to see what we can achieve when we come together for a shared purpose," added Colt.
Fundraising to support digital education
Founded in 2015, ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit tech school providing migrants and marginalized locals free and equitable access to digital education.
ReDI School of Digital Integration offers its learners high quality coding and basic computer courses in combination with a unique career and mentorship program, which includes the chance to collaborate with tech companies, startups and digital industry leaders. Their aim is to provide its learners with valuable digital skills, a growth mindset, strengthened career skills and a strong network of tech professionals to help create new opportunities for all.
Driving meaningful impact with tech
Colt's charity bike ride forms part of the company's Global Social Impact strategy. The strategy focuses community efforts on areas connected to what Colt does best - using technology to drive meaningful impact - in line with the UN Sustainable Development goals.
The focus is digital education and inclusion. Colt wants to build digital skills and promote STEM learning for disadvantaged youth and underrepresented groups.
Through partnerships with educational entities, community centers, not-for profits and charities, Colt helps underrepresented groups and excluded youth unlock their potential, find employment and become engaged and connected citizens.
