International Women's Day (IWD) saw inclusive companies around the world use their platform to champion gender equality and raise awareness.

Prime employer Colt Technology Services shared a statement on IWD that celebrated the women in its workforce and reinforced its commitment to gender equality.

"Today, we celebrate the incredible women who inspire, lead, and break barriers across the globe. At Colt, we are dedicated to fostering a workplace where equality, diversity, and empowerment are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to have a diverse team of strong, talented women who drive our success. Today, and every day, we amplify their voices and continue our commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable world," said Colt.

Enabling Colt's women to thrive

One of the ways Colt supports its female workforce is through Women+, an employee network that aims to promote diversity and gender balance at Colt while engaging with all employees to enable Colt’s women to thrive.

"To achieve our vision, we need everyone’s support - we all benefit as diverse companies are more innovative, more collaborative and more successful. To continue the work we do at Colt, we are partnering with other great women’s networks to promote gender balance in our industry," says Women+ Global Chair and Customer Success Manager, Simone Whitfield.

Group mentoring is one of the initiatives of Women+. With topics such as resilience, bravery, networking and cross-functional career moves, mentoring sessions provide not only a vital space to talk about personal development, but also a place to network with members and allies from all levels of the business across the globe.

Supporting women through the menopause

For its inclusion efforts, Colt has also been awarded the Menopause Friendly Employer Accreditation for creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels able to talk about the menopause and individuals are given the support they need. This makes Colt only one of a handful in its industry to have this accreditation.

Colt also created the Menopause Reframed initiative aimed at awareness raising, educating and supporting individuals to reduce the stigma around menopause. Colt's menopause guidelines for managers and employees provide further information and support for employees as well as those who are directly and indirectly affected.

Attracting the best and brightest

Colt's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategy helps attract and develop the best and brightest from all walks of life and create an environment where everyone can make their mark. Colt is achieving this through its four DEI pillars:

  • Leadership & Culture: Develop leaders as inclusive role models and drive an inclusive culture where Colt can harness diversity of thought for greater success.
  • Inclusive Governance & Impact: Ensure Colt has the governance in place to measure its success and maximise impact through industry collaboration.
  • Diverse Representation: Improve the diversity of Colt's workplace, ensuring the company represents the customers and communities that it serves.
