Hear from Colt Interns
Testimonials from former employees provide great insight into what an internship at Colt Technology Services has to offer, and many took to RateMyApprentice to share their positive experience.
One former intern wrote: "My work experience at Colt Technology Services was very beneficial for someone looking to go into work. During my week's work experience I developed many skills personally and in teams, such as presenting and leadership and helping to make a CV and learn job skills. I would recommend to any students."
"We learnt a lot about Colt Technology in general and it was a great experience with everyone being so friendly," said another.
Connecting via a virtual internship
Looking at the evolution of some internships post-pandemic, Alexandra Damianlieva, Sales Assistant Indirect Channel DACH, connected with students through a virtual internship.
Alexandra was chosen as a host of Global Ambassador Programme, run by the University of Glasgow, at the Colt Technology Services office in Frankfurt, Germany.
"During university, a big part of professional and academic development is internships. In the past, a lot of companies provided in-office opportunities instead of virtual. Being in the office and seeing how people work is such an integral part of an internship and one of the main reasons to spend some time with a specific company," she said.
Due to the impact of COVID, Alexandra pivoted to host the internship in a virtual setting.
"Collaboration, communication and connectivity have played the most crucial role over the past year and in setting up this event," she explains.
Giving interns the best chance to educate and upskill
"Communication tools such as Zoom and Teams have made it possible to connect Glasgow and Frankfurt, and marked the beginning of a new partnership," explains Alexandria.
"Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, being able to give interns the chance to educate and upskill themselves has been an insightful experience, not only for the students but also for everyone involved in the sessions. It showed once again that connectivity truly does matter."
