Meet Hana Wang, an Engineer, Service Activation with Colt, who explains how confidence in her job has made her more confident in her personal life.

Practicing everyday

Hana believes that committing to practicing the piano every day enabled her to play wonderfully.

"I started playing the piano when I was about eight years old. I stopped at fourteen because in high school, I didn’t have time to practise. I missed it," reminisces Hana.

"When you find a piece of music, at first you don’t know how to play it, so you build up to it. You do your exercises and you practise until eventually, you can play it wonderfully. You can go from 0 to 100 – that’s exciting for me."

Learning from those around her

When Hana graduated from university, she knew little about the sector she would be working in. However, she knew that if she continued to challenge herself, as proven with playing the piano, she could achieve what she set her mind to.

"It can be the same with your work. My major was Japanese, so I came out of university knowing nothing about telecoms networks or IT services. But I’ve learned from those around me and I’ve challenged myself and I feel proud of how far I’ve come," comments Hana.

Confidence in her job and personal life

Hana's determination to thrive in her career has led to success in her personal life too.

"I’m confident in my job which has made me more confident in my personal life," explains Hana.

"Last year, there was a big event here at Colt Dalian and I played the piano for the first time in years. I was nervous, so I rehearsed for a long time in order to get the piece right. When I played, I heard one of my colleagues say ‘wow’ – I knew I’d got to 100," she adds.
