As part of the company's community efforts, Colt partners with The Girls’ Network, an organization that believes that no girl should have their future limited by her gender, background, or parental income. The Girls’ Network also strives for a world where all girls are supported to realize their ambitions, discover their self-worth, and develop their capacity to shape their world and future.

The Girls’ Network’s mission is to inspire and empower girls from the least advantaged communities by connecting them with a mentor and a network of professional female role models.

Training mentors to support youth career ambitions

Network 25, Colt’s Women’s Network, works closely with the charity. Colt funds the training of volunteer mentors from the business who are connected to girls, aged 14-19, from schools local to Colt House in Shoreditch, the company's headquarters.

The mentors and mentees meet throughout the year, and The Girls’ Network sees an impressive increase in many aspects of the mentees’ confidence. Thanks to conversations with Colt female professionals, the girls also think much more positively about their futures. 

Hosting a celebration event and career fair

For one cohort of mentors and mentees, The Girls’ Network hosted an end-of-year celebration event. Over 100 girls, mentors and corporate partners came together to celebrate the network and take part in a career fair.

Colt representatives spoke to the girls about the company, sharing how the company's fibre affects their world every day, and inspiring them to consider a career in technology and telecommunications.

Providing experience of an office environment

As well as providing mentors, Colt has hosted several events at Colt House, providing a space where the girls can experience an office environment and meet their mentors to discuss their ambitions and future.
