AECOM provides financial support to employees to enable them to volunteer alongside non-profit organisations to help people in need across countries.

“Through the transformational projects they deliver, our people are the driving force behind AECOM’s positive impact in communities around the world,” says Mike Burke, AECOM's Chairman and CEO.

Bringing about positive change

AECOM's projects are part of a wider iniative to fund their employee's humanitarian and environmental efforts world wide that bring about positive change and enduring impact.

The Blueprint Travel Grant provided 25 grants to support projects in over 15 countries including Cambodia, China, Ecuador and the Philippines. This impact spans 15 countries, with the purpose of bringing lasting, scalable solutions to communities and people in need.

Fulfiling a corporate social responsibility

The Blueprint Travel Grant forms part of AECOM's corporate social responsiblity, which has three core aims:

  • Opening Doors: Delivering access to safe and secure infrastructure so those who need it most have a place to call home and resources to thrive.
  • Creating Opportunity: Helping to develop the next generation of the world’s problem solvers and ensure future leaders reflect the diversity of the world we live in.
  • Protecting Tomorrow: Leveraging their expertise to lessen our impact on the planet to help communities prepare for the future.

Creating new partnerships

Through the Blueprint Travel Grant, AECOM is forming partnerships with humanitarian organisations to offer volunteers and financial support. These include:

  • the Solar Village Project to help them provide clean water to the Indian village of Darhi Ram
  • Engineers Without Borders USA who are building a pedestrian bridge for a Mayan community in Chimaltenango, Guatemala to improve transport and medical response time; Building Humanity who, alongside AECOM, are building bakery for the Felix Family Village in Surat Thani, Thailand, to provide food for the local orphanage
  • Engineers Without Borders Kenya to install sanitation facilities in the Inchuni Primary School in Kisii County, Kenya, which will ensure the school stays open

"Our Blueprint Travel Grant program seeks to further empower employees as they help solve pressing humanitarian and infrastructure challenges around the world," says AECOM.
