Stephanie Gordon is a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman. Stephanie shares her journey that led her to a career at Northrop Grumman and what life is like working as a female engineer for such a pioneering company.
Starting a career with Northrop Grumman
Stephanie studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at university and also went on to complete a Masters in Electrical and Computers Engineering. Stephanie also undertook a range of internships where she accumulated skills and experience of working in defense companies like Northrop Grumman.
However, it was thanks to the Society of Women Engineers that she was able to start her career at Northrop Grumman. While attending one of their conferences, Stephanie found out about Northrop Grumman and applied for a job at the company. Now, Stephanie gives something back to the conference by going back as a recruiter to discover more female talent like her.
Working as an engineer at Northrop Grumman
Stephanie is one of many engineers and government clients who create programmes to complete a range of missions for Northrop Grumman. Stephanie's expertise is space ISR systems where she ensures every contract comes together technically. For this role, Stephanie must do a lot of research and design.
“It’s always interesting to see how people communicate across projects here. People are from all different specializations and sometimes different teams - but we still make it happen," says Stephanie.
