AECOM supports its employees each other by creating an inclusive environment built on inclusion, giving all employees the opportunity to reach their full potential.

AECOM sees its employees from every geography and field of work support the furthering of gender equality by observing International Women’s Day via a range of celebrations and recognitions. AECOM employees #ChoosetoChallenge themselves and peers to take action through identifying and combating unconscious bias, recognizing the contributions of women, advancing them into leadership positions, and serving as mentors and role models for others.

AECOM CEO Troy Rudd [pictured above] kicked off the company's International Women's Day celebrations by sharing how AECOM is shaping “a workplace where everyone not only feels safe to be themselves, but are celebrated for it.”

AECOM shared further insights from many of its leaders and employees supporting the theme of #ChooseToChallenge.

AECOM IWD Leadership statements

AECOM is committed to driving positive change for women in the global workplace and beyond. Below we hear from further AECOM leaders.

Shirley Adams, AECOM Chief Human Resources Officer

Shirley Adams

"At AECOM, I have an opportunity to work with my colleagues to create a truly inclusive culture and working environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and is given opportunities to do their best work. International Women’s Day provides me with a moment to reflect and be thankful for how far workplace equity has come around the world, but it also reminds me of how much further we all have to go. In order to continue moving in the right direction, it will require effort from all of us to challenge what is expected – to speak up and be an advocate for change – so every individual feels they can thrive."

Emily Gepner, Global Capabilities Officer

IWD

"I’m proud that AECOM has invested in inclusive programs that are resulting in an authentic culture where supporting women’s talents and celebrating their accomplishments is an everyday outcome. Our leadership team is accountable for this progress because it’s a core value, we believe it in, and we are committed to achieving more."

Sarah Urbanowicz, AECOM Chief Information Officer

"International Women’s Day is important to me because it celebrates the accomplishments of women who paved the way for me and other women executives. It also makes sure that we continue to work toward parity for my daughter and generations to come."
