Capgemini has launched a new series featuring global Capgemini Invent employees across capabilities, sectors, and talent communities sharing their stories.
In the first video, Emily Rose from the UK team speaks about her own career journey and what it is like to work on data visualization and web analytics for Capgemini Invent.
Learning from people in the industry through networking
Emily cites her biggest achievement at Capgemini is growing analytics capability in the public sector, while her biggest learning moment has been really understanding her personal brand.
Emily's favorite moment was the chance to go to an event at Aix in Les Fontaines, Capgemini's campus in France. There, she got the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the world, while learning from them and gaining new skills.
She believes that this sort of network building is invaluable to any career, but particularly in consulting
"In this industry you can learn from so many people," she adds.
Understanding her unique contributions to Capgemini
Emily remembers how somebody once asked her what she wants to be known for at Capgemini and what might be the skill sets that she was going to bring that are different to her colleagues.
"Once I really understood what was within myself, I was able to set goals and I knew what I needed to work towards and where I wanted to go next in my career," she explains.
For Emily, she wanted to be known for web analytics in the public sector and wanted to be known as an expert in data visualization - a goal she appears to be working towards successfully.
