Willis Towers Watson is committed to creating a fully diverse and inclusive work environment.

The company scored 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBT+ workplace equality.

"Receiving a 100% CEI score is a key indicator of our commitment to inclusion and diversity, and earning the designation as a “Best Place to Work for LGBT+ Equality” for the sixth year in a row is a tremendous honor," says Alicia Speight, Willis Towers Watson leader for the Florida Market and North America Out@WTW. “Willis Towers Watson stands steadfast in its support of our LGBT+ colleagues and the resolution of important LGBT+ equality issues in the workplace. We are very thankful for all the work our Out@WTW Inclusion Network does each year to make this happen.”

Promoting LGBT+-friendly workplace policies

The results of the Corporate Equality Index (CEI) showcase not only how 1,142 U.S.-based companies are promoting LGBT+-friendly workplace policies in the U.S. but also how the 57% of CEI-rated companies with global operations are helping advance the cause of LGBT+ inclusion in workplaces abroad. Willis Towers Watson's efforts in satisfying all the CEI’s criteria earned a 100% CEI score and the designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT+ Equality.

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • equitable benefits for LGBT+ workers and their families
  • supporting an inclusive culture
  • corporate social responsibility

“From the impact of the pandemic, to a long overdue reckoning with racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year. Yet, many businesses across the nation stepped up and continued to prioritize and champion LGBT+ equality,” adds Alphonso David, President of Human Rights Campaign. “Tools such as the CEI are crucial in the work to increase equity and inclusion in the workplace, while companies must breathe life into these policies and practices in real and tangible ways. Thank you to the companies that understand protecting their LGBT+ employees and consumers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do; it’s also the best business decision.”
