Prime employer for women, Capgemini UK has taken the top spot in the second year of entering the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List.

Head of Employee Experience and Inclusion, Bal Gill received the inspiring news via a virtual ceremony recognising Capgemini's continued dedication to workplace inclusion.

“We’re super proud to have our efforts recognised and be in the Inclusive Top 50 Employers list for the second year running – as we work hard to put inclusion at the heart of our hybrid working world,” commented Bal.

Committed to making a step change

Capgemini UK formed its Active Inclusion programme in 2016 to move the conversation beyond diversity: engaging our people in a conscious culture and mindset change for inclusion. Capgemini is committed to making a step change; for them, inclusion starts with everyone, from the way they conduct themselves to how they engage with others. Everyone has a role to play: their focus is on driving action through engagement – from altering processes to inspiring everyday individual changes.

Over the past challenging months throughout the pandemic, Capgemini showed resilience and agility while continuing to drive its inclusion strategy throughout, listening and engaging to mitigate the longer-term impact of the pandemic on its people. Sustainable change takes time; with their continued focus on active inclusion, Capgemini is building not just a ‘new normal’ but a ‘better normal’ for all to feel included and thrive.

Shining a light on best practice

Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers is a definitive list of the most inclusive UK-based organisations, shining a light on best practice across different  strands of diversity, throughout different stages and levels of employment. View the full list of Inclusive Employers celebrated in the TOP 50 list.

An industry respected accolade

111 organisations participated in 2021, providing evidence on topics including recruitment procedures, training, workforce data and a host of diversity-related initiatives. An independent advisory panel of Diversity & Inclusion experts have reviewed and analysed each submission, determining the rankings of each organisation.

“More employers have seen their people step forward to be heard and contribute to their inclusion agenda like never before, with inclusive leadership leading at the forefront and prompting employers to examine their shortcomings internally” said Inclusive Companies Founder and CEO, Paul Sesay. “Companies featured on this year’s list have felt the importance of ensuring individual voices are heard and standing up as responsible employers against inequality, injustice and intolerance.”

Diversity and Inclusion architect and judge Toby Mildon, added; “It’s important to recognise all of the hard work that businesses are doing to create more inclusive workplaces and Inclusive Companies do a great job of sharing best practice through the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List.”

"Being inclusive makes business sense. But until now it has been hard to identify the best employers when it comes to diversity, equality and inclusion," explains the TOP 50 List's host, Inclusive Companies. "This long-awaited league table of the most inclusive employers in the UK finally shines a light on best practice across all strands of diversity – age, disability, gender, LGBT, race, faith and religion. So why is this so important? Research shows that more diverse organisations perform better and are also better places to work. Significant numbers of companies are practising inclusion as a routine event and are reaping the rewards. They are leaders in their field - not the diversity pitch, but the business stadia in which they play. And win. They aren't just ticking a CSR box or following a moral code, important as they may be. They are capturing the diverse talents of the wonderful population of the United Kingdom and becoming more competitive as a result."
