WTW Senior Director Kezia Charles spoke to Howard University business students, sharing with them what a typical day is like at WTW and the importance of the insurance industry.
An academic leader in STEM fields
Founded in 1867, Howard University is a private, historically Black research institution where students pursue studies in more than 140 areas leading to undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees.
Howard is a leader in STEM fields. The National Science Foundation has ranked Howard as the top producer of African-American undergraduates who later earn science and engineering doctoral degrees. The University also boasts nationally ranked programs in social work, business and communications.
Supporting the careers of diverse employees
In her role as Senior Director at WTW, Kezia is also a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist. She helps develop tips and strategies to help diverse employees and managers deal with difficult situations. She is also an Unconscious Bias trainer, where she leads training around addressing unconscious bias in the workplace.
Kezia also helps develop programs to create an inclusive work environment for all employees, and supports the recruitment, retention and development of diverse colleagues. Kezia has a strong focus in partnering with diverse organizations, mentorship and relevant trainings, in particular community and college outreach.
