Theramex has been raising awareness around menopausal symptoms and the influence it can have on women in the workplace.

Attending a congress for Occupational Health in the Netherlands, Theramex understands menopause in the workplace is a very important issue.

An important workplace issue

"Menopause in the workplace is a very important issue which needs to be discussed amongst employers as many women take sick days or quit, often due to burnout. Most women wait for their menopausal symptoms to reach the height of their severity before seeking any treatment," says Theramex

"In many cases, this is due to menopausal complaints that are not recognised or acted upon in a timely manner. When women are seen by company doctors, they are usually referred onto GPs who may not have time to discuss all the symptoms and concerns from the women to ensure the correct diagnosis is made, leaving the women feeling hopeless."

What is menopause?

The menopause can be a time of anxiety and distress as women experience symptoms that can be difficult to manage, including hot flushes, anxiety and sleep disturbances.

Theramex recognises the significance of this time of change in life. The company continuously works with sufferers, its partners and medical professionals to develop treatments to support women through the menopause.
