Capgemini UK has been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture. Capgemini UK was recognised with 19th place among the 46 Super Large Organisations assessed (those with 1,000+ employees).
“At the heart of every organisation are its people and looking after their wellbeing should be much more than a package of impressive perks on a careers website. We know when employees feel genuinely contented and at ease within their roles, they are much more engaged and productive. Now in our second year of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list, we’re once again able to showcase the leading organisations providing cultures conducive to outstanding psychological, physical and social wellbeing. A huge congratulations to Capgemini UK for making this prestigious list,” says Great Place to Work® UK Managing Director, Benedict Gautrey.
Evolving employee wellbeing offering
Recognizing the undeniable link between physical and mental health, Capgemini takes the responsibility to support its people seriously. This has meant evolving its employee wellbeing offering to suit the new hybrid working patterns during and following the Covid-19 pandemic. For example, Capgemini has focused on providing managers with training on how best to support their teams’ mental health remotely.
Here are a few ways that Capgemin supports its people:
- Talking Heads Employee Network: Capgemini's wellbeing Employee Network, Talking Heads, provides a space for everyone to discuss anything mental health or wellbeing related. It’s a space to connect, share, seek advice, and uplift each other.
- Wellbeing Champions: Capgemini has more than 160 trained Wellbeing Champions across its UK business who are available to all employees. These dedicated Champions provide a friendly and trustworthy point of contact, enabling colleagues to speak about mental health concerns or life events in confidence. Their role is to listen and signpost to internal and external support, not make a professional or medical judgement.
- Access to Thrive app: Capgemini offers a confidential wellbeing app that helps build a growth mind-set, prevent and manage stress anxiety and other mental health conditions. It has a mood meter, relaxation techniques, a goal setting system, plus access to a thought trainer and more.
Receiving positive employee feedback
To determine which employers made the list, Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed thousands of employee surveys, assessing people’s holistic experiences of wellbeing at work.
The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.
Here’s what Capgemini’s people say about their workplace:
“The company really cares about employees’ wellbeing. When I mentioned that I was going through a difficult time to more senior colleagues, they supported me throughout and reached out to me frequently to ask how I was doing. There is also a great Employee Assistance Program where employees can speak to therapists for free.”
“Capgemini “promotes a ‘family ethos’ where, as employees, we look out for each other and reach out to others in need.”
“Our leadership is not afraid to share their personal stories to their employees when dealing with difficult topics such as Mental Health or leadership vulnerability which is truly a brave and admirable thing to do.”
