WTW colleagues marked the start of Pride Month by sharing how LGBT+ inclusion at WTW enabls them to bring their authentic selves to work.

"We demonstrate pride all year in our inclusion and respect for our LGBT+ colleagues, clients and communities," said WTW.

Fostering a sense of belonging and respect for diversity.

Working in an inclusive environment is important because it fosters a sense of belonging and respect for diversity. When everyone feels valued and included they're more likely to be engaged, productive and motivated in their work.

WTW Senior Director of Retirement, Meg Gibbon, commented: "When I am able to work in an inclusive environment, it allows me to spend my energy bringing my best self to the workplace."

Working in an inclusive company makes a positive impact on overall wellbeing, with ResQ Product Owner, Jodie Barker, stating: "Being part of a culture in WTW, where they welcome inclusion and diversity is so important. It feels like I am really doing good by being part of the network and really making a difference, and trying to make if not the world a better place, at least my environment and my community a better place."

How to be an ally for LGBT+ colleagues

H&B Director, Placement & Team Leader, Silvia Dello Mastro, shared what allies can do to help create an inclusive workplace for LGBT+ colleagues: "Acknowledge one's privilege within society."

"One important thing you can do as an ally at work is to make sure you are using inclusive language," shared Meg. Meanwhile, Jodie highlighted that the key thing that people can do is to educate themselves.
