Capgemini actively recruits and supports veterans in the workplace, and as such has received a Gold Award in the 2023 Employer Recognition Scheme from the UK Ministry of Defence.
Capgemini was honoured for its commitment to supporting veterans and reservists, and to upholding the values of the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC).
Pledging, demonstrating or advocating support to defence
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (DERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces' community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
The DERS is designed primarily to recognise private sector support although public sector organisations such as the emergency services, local authorities, NHS trusts and executive agencies are also eligible to be recognised.
Aligning values with the Armed Forces Covenant
For employers, a key part of the Armed Forces Covenant – of which Capgemini is a signatory – is the DERS, which encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same.
The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
