Meet Lauren, a Principal Project Manager at AECOM, who benefits from the company's Freedom to Grow program. 

“I’ve been with AECOM for 13 years, working initially as an Engineering Geologist and now as a Project manager within the transportation sector. I’ve had experience of night shift working and managing complex multi-disciplinary projects, none of which could have prepared me for the challenges motherhood threw in my direction," says Lauren.

"My husband and I are parents to two boys, aged 4 and 1. My mornings can start as early as 5:30 am and mornings can be chaotic. After feeding the children, the cat and the chickens, it does not leave much time for myself before school and nursery drop off," explains Lauren.

"AECOM’s Freedom To Grow policy means I can work from home on some days and work in the office with my team the rest of the time. This helps me navigate parent’s evenings, school plays and any other weird and wonderful additions to my day. I feel very supported by my line manager and my team when I need to work flexibly to look after my children," adds Lauren.
