Forging a culture of inclusivity

Advancing ED&I priorities and supporting change in the industry takes focus and commitment. AECOM's champions play a critical role in helping the company to make an impact.

As a key part of the company's ED&I efforts, AECOM's employee resource groups (ERGs) help create dialogue and understanding amongst employees. They also engage with and support AECOM's communities, and make each individual feel welcome. AECOM's employee resource groups ensure diverse perspectives are represented and heard to impact policies and business outcomes. They also help employees network, grow their careers and take part in community outreach.

“The Pride ERG has created a community that brings together LGBTQ+ colleagues and our allies through events and initiatives that allow us to share our stories, learn from each other, and help everyone to feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work,” said AECOM Senior Analyst, Cities and President, Pride Americas, Cristian Bevington.

“As a proud gay man, I feel it is important to create a safe, open and accepting environment for those from a LGBTQIA+ background. Pride creates the mechanism for our colleagues to bring their whole selves to work, without having to hide anything. Pride is the recognition that every person at AECOM is just as valuable as each other,” shared Craig Lowe, AECOM's Associate Director for Clients & Marketing Manager, Australia & President, Pride Australia & New Zealand,
