AECOM has named Orla Pease Vice President of Digital Innovation for its Design and Consulting Services business in the Americas (DCSA).

Orla, who previously served as Associate Vice President for the Transportation business line for the Northeast at AECOM, has 20 years of experience in the management, planning, engineering design and analysis of urban streets, intersections, traffic signals, safety and transit related projects, and is the first person to fill the digital innovation leader role.

An impressive engineering career background

Orla has a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and a master’s degree in Engineering Science from University College Cork, Ireland. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in five U.S. states and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. She’s also involved in numerous professional societies including the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and is passionate about mentoring local middle school students about all types of engineering.

Orla: the right leader to drive innovation

Already an innovation leader, Orla has worked on wireless static and dynamic vehicle charging as part of AECOM’s Transportation Electrification team and is examining the potential use of Hyperloop as part of a team selected by the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Orla is pleased to be taking on a new challenge at AECOM and is ready to build further on her experience of solving problems through exciting digital innovation.

“What’s great about the job of a transportation engineer, is the ability to have a positive impact on many people,” Orla explains. “In the past I have done that by solving complex problems with innovative ways to get people to where they are going safely and in the most efficient manner possible. In this new role, I’ll have the opportunity to apply digital innovation across the full spectrum of our capabilities across the Americas.”
