AECOM is officially CIBSE Employer of the Year, having received the accolade at the CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) Young Engineers Awards.
AECOM came out on top, beating tough competition after seven firms reached the final stage in the awards process. The company was also a winner in the Large Company category for the second year in a row.
The awards were presented to AECOM by CIBSE at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) in London.
Lara Poloni, CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa at AECOM, commented “Proud to say we’ve been named Employer of the Year at the CIBSE Young Engineers Awards. They said we impressed with our commitment to developing staff and target to attract and retain talent to the industry.”
Showcasing exceptional engineering talent
CIBSE is the leading professional body for building services engineers and those associated with the sustainable and built environment. Its annual awards scheme brings together the CIBSE Graduate of the Year Award and the CIBSE Employer of the Year Award.
The prestigious awards recognise the innovative thinking, hard work and skills of graduate engineers, whilst also championing employers who are committed to encouraging young talent.
“With these Young Engineers Awards we recognise and showcase the exceptional engineering talent we have in the industry,” said CIBSE president, Lynne Jack.
“Equally importantly, the awards shine a spotlight on those employers whose progressive strategies for recruiting, nurturing and empowering young people have provided a suitable environment for our young engineers to flourish. Without companies willing to champion and support those new to our industry, we cannot hope to achieve our targets.”
