Flexible work is a day-to-day reality with Capgemini.
Underpinned by its trust-based managerial culture, Capgemini aims to empower everyone, in all countries, to deliver exceptional work, contributing to an inclusive and sustainable future for its people, clients, and society.
Capgemini Quality Assurance Engineer, Rachel, is based in Manila in the Philippines, and embraces the company's culture of flexible work.
Capgemini’s Flex Abroad policy meant that Rachel was able to balance visiting far-away family in the USA, while managing the day-to-day responsibilities of her role.
Flexible work opportunities with Capgemini
Rachel explains that with Capgemini, she has experienced many opportunities for flexibility. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Rachel hoped to see her family again in the USA, and was able to with the help of Capgemini's Flex Aboard program.
As part of Capgemini's Flexible Work program, the company enables its employees to work temporarily from over 25 countries for up to 45 days per year through the Flex Abroad program, knowing work-life balance is the cornerstone of a positive employee experience.
Flex Abroad provides team members with an opportunity to adjust their working environment according to their personal needs. International and bi-national employees can extend the length of an overseas visit to family or friends by a few extra working days, while any employee who feels the need to occasionally change their working environment can do so, whatever the reason.
"Flex Abroad is a program offered by the company to offer its people the flexibility to be able to work in other countries than their own. So, I applied, and then it got approved. Having that time it really means a lot, priceless That's what it is," comments Rachel.
Importance of work-life balance
Capgemini's collaborative and agile work environment is designed to support colleagues and their ambitions throughout their Capgemini career. For Rachel, when a company offers as much flexibility to their employees as Capgemini does, the employees are more motivated, they work harder, and manage their time better.
"It is important for me to have that work and personal life balance," shares Rachel.
"Capgemini really values the people that are working for them. You can work with them to figure out how you can be flexible and how it will work for them as well."
